Introduction

Meeta's Workshops are entirely suitable for all levels of practitioner and all workshops follow a similar pattern.

We begin with a 90 minute yoga workshop during which Meeta will concentrate our efforts into the muscle groups targeted by the current event. Each yogi will receive guidance appropriate to his/her own level of practise.

When the yoga is done, volunteers lend a hand to set up the studio for the social section whilst Meeta returns to her kitchen to put her finishing touches to the food. The rest of the evening is given over to dinner, banter, and friendly chat. Lovely!

Our first Backbending workshop this year designed for all of you who want to develop more flexibility in your spine.

One of the most notable benefits of back-bending in yoga is the relief of anxiety and stress. A daily backbend routine can do wonders with the chronic anxiety that often racks our bodies and minds. 

Perfect for those yogis who spend a lot of time sitting at a desk. Practicing backbends opens up the front body, increases our hip flexibility, improves the mobility of our lumbar and thoracic spine and stimulates our heart chakra (improving how we experience relationships). 

Meeta will guide you through a beautiful sequence that will stretch your abdominal muscles, improve your posture, and decrease stress and anxiety.

Releasing your tensions, this workshop will and set you up for a deep, invigorating sleep... What better way to go into the weekend??

The food

Meeta will serve full vegan meal dal with delicious curry, naan, starter, salad and of course we will have a cake.

This time Meeta will also cook tarka daal - this sounds like a tasty exotic dish, full of spices and rich flavours. Well, you know what? That’s exactly what it is! Tarka daal is a wonderful Indian experience packed in a dish, full of protein and vitamins, which makes it an excellent choice as a comfort meal.

There are so many different types of daals which are types of pulses that have many nutritional values the most important of which is that they are packed with vegetable protein.

Very commonly used in the Indian cuisine - It is hard to find an Indian household that does not stock up different types daals!
